Is there an Anna’s Archive for LLMs yet?

I’d argue the opposite: because AI was certainly trained on massive amounts of copyleft code, all AI- generated code should be copyleft only, and under the most strict terms, just to be safe.

I can think of no higher honor than enabling a rule-of-three that would please 90% of the world.

Another fucking slap on the wrist. “The payment will be distributed in annual instalments over a 10-year period.” It’s literally a rounding error for them. I assume this is the same lawsuit as the teen addiction one, where the states had asked for $1.4T in damages - in which case this would amount to literally 1% of the request and add insult to injury.

But also more anxiety, shorter attention spans, and brain rot.
(According to my own anecdotal evidence)

Can they please “fuel a push” for indictments instead?

I use piefed (and/or my own custom lemmy app), so dupes and comments show up as merged so there’s no issue. When I post, I often try to pick a big instance (for engagement) and a small, relevant instance (to promote local)

(I just picked June 4 1989 randomly, ofc.) 🤣
I assume you’re using their handle and their blades? If so, have you used other blades before for comparison? I go back and forth between a disposable razor and a safety razor with feather blades, but I always go back to disposable cartridge after the novelty wears off.

How cool! What kind of work? Any good stories?

Considering how much damage Google et al do, I legitimately wonder whether China could even do worse, and I’m not even a tankie.

Oh, we’re a bit ahead of schedule – we’re only in the Year of Our Ford 120

Who’s to say they didn’t though? With the possible exception of not checking the IT company’s financial health (and maybe they did but decided it wasn’t a risk), the process worked as intended. They outsourced their storage and backups. The data is still stored and backed up. They were able to follow a remediation protocol (ie speaking to the judge) to regain access.

This would be highly efficient.

Having worked with huge, slow organizations before, they probably had a mandate in place to outsource this kind of thing, and nobody in-house to evaluate the solution, so they picked an “expert” company who then went out of business.

If you’re being fediverse-specific you could set up your own instance, federate with everything, and have it save only the content you’ve interacted with. It’s a pretty narrow archive so it wouldn’t be too resource intensive. And if you’re techy it wouldn’t be too hard* to write a native activitypub client that did only this if you were active on eg lemmy and mastodon and pixelfed

The data is all there, the vendor they were using to manage the storage just went OOB, and they’re not yet being allowed to retrieve it from the vendor’s storage vendor, Iron Mountain:
The lawsuit filed in Denver District Court alleges that the station’s cloud-storage vendor, Open Source Storage, abruptly cut off access to Nine PBS’ data earlier this year without warning. It states OSS, which had a separate relationship with Iron Mountain to provide data storage, went “defunct,” leaving Nine PBS’ archives in a data center operated by Iron Mountain.
I will be using “tendentious hellscape” in all of my meeting notes going forward. Thank you.
Sure, but I have to imagine it was written with currently-alive kids in mind, not the not-yet-conceived. Now get off my lawn.
If you’re into self hosting at all check out caliber-web, which uses a calibre-compatible db/backend but a web-based fronted. I switched about 3 years ago after importing my old calibre db and never looked back (household is doing around 90 books/year)
