I think they mean Google play services yeah. When i was running cyanogenmod on my phone, I had the option to not install Googles play services.
Some apps rely on that being installed but most worked fine without it.
Looking for an alternative to reddit

I had an icq number in the 184000 range. :) Bragging rights!
Every time this topic comes up, I feel very nostalgic. Of course the tech was not as good, but the internet was free of big tech.
I was using netscape as my first web browser.

I have the M50 and its also still working, no problems. Also test winner in audio tests.

I bet people will just accept it and not even think twice about it.

Ive been here three years, and ive been accused of being all kinds of things. You cant let it get to you. You should absolutely think about peoples comments and figure out if its about their own issues or if its genuinely a problem with your own personality though.
There are users here who had difficult upbringing because of racism or gender issues, and they will think you are a hateful person if they see a comment they dont agree with on those topics.
Hang in there. If you can make comments and posts that make people feel good (many upvotes), you are helping the community I would say.
Not to mention weaker social circle. :)
I guess I understand. Maybe your life is full of politics you cant get away from and Lemmy is like a break from all that. And then it becomes super important to not see it here.
I dont watch any politics in real life and thats really helped me feel grounded and positive. I understand the view that its poison because it kind of is, mental poison.
Scared of Apples, that was unexpected and funny as hell.
Are you saying im a toilet? :)
Im sure he likes to do both.
Some of you guys seem more interested in communities following every single rule rather than have people actually post content.
This is Lemmy, not reddit, so perhaps we can just be happy that users are active? A few political posts when a new war was just launched may not be too much to deal with, or?

Not true for everyone. But sure, I understand the idea. Its just that i know people who hate authority and because of that, they know how to act with compassion instead. They dont speak bad of others and they dont have a lot of ego to defend.
The best leaders are reluctant to even have power. And they see it more as a responsibility to do right by the people.
I dont see that type of leader in America at all, but they exist in real life in Europe.

He is not insane, just evil. Which is bad enough.
It looks like he is insane if you think he is a good guy, yeah.
Oh you are new to this? America has always been on Israel side, for decades. Its their proxy for operations in the middle east.

Its been an american leadership view for as long as ive been alive that American lives are worth at least a hundred times more than other lives.
That is, in war situations, not in situations where leadership takes care of its citizens. No, there those lives are worth next to nothing. So American leadership is pretty much at war both with its own people and countries who dont want American culture.

You must be using one of those browsers from an ad company.
Its getting kind of silly to be afraid of China when big tech is American… There really isnt any logical reason at this point. Just emotional, because people are afraid of China.
The entire west is getting absolutely wrecked by American big tech so its funny to read those articles about how scary China is. I guess we prefer the devil we know, but I dont think China has anything even remotely as capable as American spy agencies and big tech.
