Because if it’s mine, I can do what I want with it. Did you build it? Contribute anything? It’s only communistic if you actually contribute. People often forget that part of communism. Don’t know who needs to hear this but VPNs are allowed in China and can get around “censorship”. In general you can still access information abroad but China is dedicated to having their mass-media not be inflammatory.
